  • I want to join a sports club. “sports club” 运动俱乐部。通常名词作定语时，用单数形式，但sports后的s时本来就有的。
  • You're very good at telling stories. 你擅长讲故事。 “be good at” 擅长于…
  • Sounds good. 听起来不错。 这是一个省略句。 Sound前面省略了it. 故sound用了“sounds”. Sound是一个系动词，后面要跟形容词作表语。
  • I can play the guitar and the piano. 我能弹吉他，弹钢琴。“can”表示有这种技能，play和表示乐器的名词连用时，译成“演奏”。
  • Call Mr. Brown at 293-7742 请打293-7742和布朗先生联系。“call 某人at 电话号码”. 打…电话和…联系。
  • Are you good with old people? 你擅长和老年人打交道吗？ “be good with…”: 擅长和…打交道。“be good at…”: 擅长做…。
  • You can make friends. “make friends”: 交友。 两人以上才能交友，所以fiends总是用复数。

情态动词
      情态动词表示说话人对某事某物的态度，如需要、可能、意愿或怀疑等。情态动词没有人称的变化。情态动词后直接接动词原形。如：I can speak English. He can speak English. 疑问句把情态动词提到主语前面。如：Can you speak English? Can he speak English? 否定句在情态动词后加not. 如：I can not speak English. He can not speak English.
